3-D Printed Bust of President Obama Displayed at National Portrait Gallery
Published at(WASHINGTON) — A 3-D printed bust of President Obama will be on display at the Smithsonian Institute’s National Portrait Gallery beginning on Friday.
According to the Smithsonian, Obama last year became the first U.S. president to be scanned using 3-D technology. The data was later processed to create “high-resolution models” which were 3-D printed. The bust is scheduled to be on display through the weekend, leading up to President’s Day.
The White House released behind-the-scenes video of the scanning in December.
