Adultery Law Abolished in South Korea
Published at(SEOUL, South Korea) — A South Korean court ruling could potentially impact thousands of individuals who faced adultery charges in the last several years.
The Constitutional Court has abolished a 62-year-old law that banned extramarital affairs.
The highest court in the country ruled Thursday that the law suppresses personal freedoms.
Under the law, having sex with a married person was punishable by up to two years in prison.
