Blue Jays Sign OF Chris Dickerson to Minor-League Contract

Getty S Gen MLBBallBat?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1424613944624Photos.com/Thinkstock(TORONTO) — The Toronto Blue Jays agreed to a minor league contract with outfielder Chris Dickerson with an invitation to spring training, the club announced on Saturday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 32-year-old Dickerson appeared in 41 games with the Cleveland Indians last season, where he hit .244 with two home runs and six RBIs.

Dickerson was originally selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 16th round of the 2003 amateur draft. During his seven-year major league career (2008-2014) with the Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles and Indians, he has batted .257 with 17 homers and 66 RBIs in 355 regular season games. He also has scored 105 runs and has an OBP of .335.
