Celtics Forward Jared Sullinger to Miss the Remainder of the Season

NBA via Boston Celtics(LOS ANGELES) — In the midst of having the best season of his young career, Boston Celtics forward Jared Sullinger will miss the rest of the season with a left metatarsal stress fracture.
According to Sullinger, he was experiencing discomfort in his foot since Feb. 11 during the team’s win over the Atlanta Hawks.
“Supposedly it happened in the Atlanta game, and he was talking a little bit about it [Wednesday] with regard to feeling some discomfort, and so he went through a little bit of practice then pulled himself out,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens said earlier this week. “Ed took him to get the X-ray [Thursday].”
Sullinger has emerged as one of the Celtics best players/rebounders. Despite a slew of trades made by the team this season, Boston still finds itself just 1 1/2 games behind the Brooklyn Nets for the 8th and final playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.
In his third season, the 22-year-old Sullinger was averaging 14.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this season.
