ESPN: Wide Receiver Lance Moore Requests Release
Published at(NEW YORK) — Unhappy with his playing time, ESPN reports that wide receiver Lance Moore has requested release his team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“It didn’t go the way I’d hoped it would go, but that’s life in the NFL sometimes,” Moore said Jan. 5 after the Steelers were eliminated in an AFC wild-card game. “It’s unfortunate that it unfolded the way that it did, but I enjoyed my time here this season.
“I just want to play…whether that’s here or somewhere else,” he continued. “I’d love to be here, I’d love to be a part of this offense, but I think those are decisions that have to be made down the line.”
Last March, Moore signed a two-year deal with the Steelers worth $3 million. The Steelers will only have to pay $322,500 towards their cap if he is indeed granted his release.
Just two seasons ago, the 31-year-old Moore had 1,041 yards for the New Orleans Saints. In 2014, Moore caught just 14 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns.
