While the Hawks won, this game was tight till the finish. The score was tied at halftime and Atlanta led by only four with six minutes to play. But Atlanta hit 12 free throws down the stretch to once again take over the best record in the NBA.

“They were good,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. “They were better than us. We broke down defensively. They had a lot to do with that because of the way they stretch you out.”

Atlanta (42-9) shot 49 percent from the field and hit 15 of 27 3-pointers in the win.

The Warriors (39-9) had their three-game win streak snapped.
