Jeff Gordon Wins Daytona 500 Pole

Todd Warshaw/Getty Images(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.) — In his last season as a full-time driver, Jeff Gordon will start up front at the Daytona 500 next Sunday.
The fourt-time Sprint Cup champion had the fastest qualifying time with a speed of 201.293 miles an hour on Sunday.
Gordon announced last month that this will be his final full-time season, and Sunday’s season-opening Daytona 500 will most likely be the final one of his career.
In Sunday’s qualifying session, Gordon and his Hendrick Motorsports teammate, Jimmie Johnson locked down the front row, and it’s the first time that’s been done in the knockout round in 57 years.
