The Detroit Lions will part ways with running back Reggie Bush and the Green Bay Packers have released inside linebacker A.J. Hawk.

Hawk was the fifth overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft by the Packers. He spent the last nine seasons with the team and is the franchise’s all-time leading tackler with 1,118.

“A.J. is a consummate Packer and we are grateful for all that he has given and how he represented the organization over the past nine seasons,” Packers general manager Ted Thompson said in a statement.

The move frees up $3.5 million in cap space for Green Bay.

Bush, who signed a four-year deal with the Lions in 2013, could not stay healthy. He played in 25 games in two seasons with Detroit, missing five this past season as he dealt with a nagging ankle injury. The move frees up $1.7 million in cap space.

The Packers (12-4) won the NFC North last season when they defeated the Lions (11-5) 30-20 in Week 17.
