Manning is scheduled to make $19 million this upcoming season, however the contact reconstruction will open up some cap room for the team. Manning also has to pass the team’s physical by next week, but he said before the Super Bowl that wouldn’t be an issue.

The Broncos need to create cap space so they have the opportunity to sign players like DeMaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas — who were key components in the Broncos’ offense a year ago.

After a successful regular season finishing 12-4, the Broncos were an early exit losing to Manning’s former team, the Indianapolis Colts, in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
