Shopping While Hungry Hazardous for Your Wallet
Published at(NEW YORK) — The advice to avoid shopping while hungry may not just apply to the grocery store.
In a new study published in the journal PNAS, researchers studied 379 people and found that when they reported feeling hungry, they spent more money on non-food purchases than people who were not feeling hungry.
The study’s authors believe that hunger is related to the concept of acquisition, which can then spill over in the non-food domain.
