Just how he suffered the injury though, isn’t. Pillar will miss the next seven to 10 days after sneezing too hard.

Batting .269 with one home run and five RBIs, Pillar was hoping to contend for a starting spot in the Blue Jays outfield this spring. Those plans are on hold now.

Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos told reporters it may take a while before Pillar returns to the field “just knowing how long obliques can linger. I remember when Rajai Davis said he had a small one and could play through it. He did for another two weeks and then it got worse and he was on the shelf for about three weeks. Take the week, get it out of the way and he’ll be fine.”

The 26-year-old Pillar is entering his third Major League season. In 89 career games, he’s batting .239 with five home runs and 20 RBIs.
