The show features celebs like Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart and Shaquille O’Neal ripping into the Bieb about everything from his sexuality, to his arrests, to his relationship with Selena Gomez.  And according to the participants, coming up with insults about the singer was almost too easy.

Talking about how he prepared to host Monday night’s roast, Kevin Hart told reporters on the red carpet, “I basically went through my mental Rolodex of all the dumb s**t that Justin has done and I said, ‘You know what? Why choose a couple? Just talk about it all!'”

Asked to name his favorite dumb thing that Justin’s done, Hart laughed, “My favorite? He bought a monkey! It doesn’t get better than that. The white kid bought a monkey. Is that not a big deal to everybody? I don’t understand how that is not the topic of conversation overall!”

But in addition to having to rely on their mental Rolodexes, one of the roasters, comedian Natasha Leggero, tells ABC Radio that Comedy Central helped everyone come up with jokes by giving them tons of research about Justin’s missteps.

“You download the twenty-five page document that Comedy Central sends you of all of his arrests and DUIs and insane incidents,” Leggero explains. “And after five years of being on Chelsea Lately, where every week there’s a new thing, like, everything made the news! It’s like, ‘Someone throws a water bottle at Justin Bieber’s head!’ So yeah, so it’s kind of easy because there’s so much there.”

Making fun of Bieber is one thing, but his closest family member also came under fire — at the taping, there were references to his mom and abortion.  On the red carpet beforehand, Justin’s mom, Pattie Mallette, told ABC Radio, “I kinda braced myself for the worst imaginable possible things and feelings and I’m just here as a supportive mom.”

Asked which celebrity roaster she thought would be the meanest to her little boy, she said, “Martha Stewart. I’m a little worried about Martha Stewart, I’m not gonna lie. I think Martha Stewart’s got a little bit more up her sleeve than you might imagine.”

As for Stewart, she told reporters that she agreed to do the roast “in a moment of weakness” and added that she had “many, many reservations” about it.  Among them: the fact that you’ll see her saying “some raunchy stuff.”

“Please, please everyone who knows me…I didn’t write this stuff!” says the domestic diva.

One thing that happened during the taping that you won’t see Monday night are the tasteless jokes about the late Fast and Furious star Paul Walker — they’ve been edited out.  After the taping, Justin told reporters that he “didn’t particularly like” the jokes about Walker.   He also told reporters, “I turned a lot of people off over the past few years, but I know I can still turn out good music and turn everything around.”

Other celebrity roasters tonight include Pete Davidson, Ludacris, Hannibal Buress, Chris D’Elia and Jeffrey Ross.
