Suh signed a six-year $114 million contract, which makes him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.

“I’m excited about the pressure. I don’t necessarily look at it as pressure,” Suh said. “I’m looking at it as doing something I’m built for.”

After being drafted with the No. 2 pick in 2010, the Detroit Lions declined the franchise tag on Suh, which allowed him to become a free agent.

“For me, I had a great time in Detroit,” Suh said. “I think the fans are absolutely exquisite to me, especially the people in the organization the last five years. For me, it was nothing short of being amazing. I have a lot of long-lasting relationships that I have in Detroit and I will always have those people. I really enjoyed that time there.”

Suh has led all defensive tackles in sacks (36), disruptive plays (50 percent) and total snaps (4,107).

“To get a player of Ndamukong’s stature says a lot about our organization,” director of football operations Mike Tannenbaum said. “The fact he chose us speaks volumes about our organization, our chance to win and the foundation that has been laid here.”
