IDAHO FALLS – Two Idaho Falls police officers were honored at City Council meeting for saving a mans life.

Officers Jason Miller and Steven Avery responded to a cardiac arrest call on December 11, 2014. When they arrived, they found a man who was not breathing, unconscious, and without a pulse.

Miller and Avery performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

The EMS team stated the officers’ actions “clearly prolonged the man’s life providing him with the opportunity to recover from this event.”

Miller and Avery were honored with the department’s Life Saving Award at City Council Meeting on March 12.
