Mitsuyoshi Kamiya, a 52-year-old man from Okinawa, did not deny the crime, but he did not explicitly confess, according to a Tokyo Metropolitan Police official.

The official said Kamiya threatened to kill Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and blow up the U.S. Embassy. The threatening calls were placed to the Embassy and Camp Schwab between March 5 and March 14.

Kamiya, who remains in police custody without bail options, is facing charges, which translate to “forcible obstruction of business.”

Authorities are still investigating the threats.
