Busch, who raced in his first race last weekend since being suspended, finished ahead of Kevin Harvick and Matt Kenseth.

“They are such a strong group and have been together for many, many years and we just need to bridge from where we were last year in those final three races into 2015,” Busch said. “We didn’t get the start that we wanted, and here we are now, so let’s just stay the course and run our pace.”

Busch finished in fifth place last weekend at Phoenix International Raceway.

“Thank you [co-owner Gene Haas] for believing in me,” Busch said. “This is my job: Come to the track, drive the car and put it up on the pole and go for wins.

“That is what Gene has told me to do from the get go and I’m glad I have this chance to go back out there and live up to why he hired me,” Busch continued.

Harvick, also a member of the Stewart-Haas Racing team, has won the last two races.
