“Our doors will officially reopen to the public at 10:00 am [Friday] and the Cafe will return to standard trading hours from Saturday onwards,” the Facebook post from Lindt Australia CEO Steve Loane reads. “We feel that reopening the Cafe to the public and moving forward positively is the right thing to do.”

“After the tragic events that happened in December we discussed this reopening with our staff and gave a lot of thought to next steps…overwhelmingly, the feeling was that reopening and moving forward is the best thing to do for everyone affected,” the post continued.

Loane also noted that the cafe will feature a plaque in memory of Tori Johnson and Katrina Dawson, the two people killed during a siege after hostage taker Man Haron Monis held a 16-hour standoff with police. Monis was also killed in the siege.

The Facebook post also included links to donation pages for charities selected by the families of the victims.
