Man Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting in DC Metro Tunnel

Alex_Schmidt/iStock/Thinkstock(WASHINGTON) — A man was killed in an officer-involved shooting in a Washington, D.C. Metro train tunnel on Thursday night.
According to a spokesperson from D.C. Metro, transit police received a call just before 9 p.m. Thursday of an unauthorized person in the tunnel near the Potomac Avenue Metro Station. The shooting occurred during the response to that call.
The suspect, identified only as an adult man, was fatally wounded in the shooting. No officers were injured. The station was temporarily shut down, causing some delays.
DC Metro had no further details on the incident.
