Report: “Seinfeld” May Be Headed to Streaming Service Soon

Heidi Gutman/Bravo(NEW YORK) — You may have the opportunity to stream all 180 episodes of Seinfeld online in the not-so-distant future.
The complete series currently is not available for streaming on the Internet, but Sony Pictures Television is in advanced talks to sell the rights to the episodes to an online video service, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Netflix, which acquired the streaming rights to Friends last year, is not in the running for Seinfeld, according to the newspaper, but Hulu, Amazon and Yahoo are.
The Wall Street Journal notes that Sony is seeking more than what Netflix shelled out for Friends — that deal reportedly was worth more than $500,000 per episode.
A deal could be completed within the next few weeks, The Wall Street Journal says.
Seinfeld currently airs on TV in syndication and on TBS.
