Retail Execs Predict Huge Increase in Online Sales

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — How well did U.S. retailers do in online sales last year? Nearly $305 billion worth, according to the Commerce Department.
And most chief financial officers in the retail industry only see sales growing stronger in 2015, based on a study conducted by the financial and business advisory group BDO USA.
About eight in 10 of the 100 CFOs polled predict online sales this year will increase by 9.9 percent over last year.
Yet, most agreed that it will take more effort to sustain continued sales growth. For instance, 68 percent of CFOs will boost their investment in market technologies, a substantial spike from the 40 percent who did so in 2014.
One primary growth tactic is expanding eCommerce and mobile offerings.
