Teenagers Sent Back to UK after Attempting to Reach Syria
Published at(ISTANBUL) — Authorities in Turkey have apprehended three teenagers from the United Kingdom that were on their way to join ISIS in Syria.
Turkish officials said on Saturday the three teenagers planning to join the Islamic State were detained in Istanbul.
The teens, ages 17 to 19 years old, were allegedly planning to cross the border into Syria.
The three have since been returned to the UK and arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts, the BBC reports.
The arrests follow reports earlier this week that a foreign intelligence operative helped three British teenage girls join the Islamic State.
