“Twilight’s” Peter Facinelli and “Thor’s” Jaimie Alexander Are Engaged

Andrew H. Walker/Getty Images for Giorgio Armani(NEW YORK) — Peter Facinelli, best known as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight saga, is apparently off the market.
A rep for the actor confirmed to Us Weekly that Facinelli proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Thor actress Jaimie Alexander, this past Monday.
The rep says Facinelli, 41, popped the question to Alexander, 31, atop New York City’s famed Empire State Building.
“Top of the world with my love @peterfacinelli,” Alexander shared on her Instagram page, along with a picture of the couple kissing on the NYC landmark’s observation deck with a view of the city behind them.
“She knew it was coming, but was overwhelmed during the proposal,” a source tells the magazine.
The couple, who both appeared on the Showtime series Nurse Jackie and also worked together on the film Loosies, took their relationship public back in November 2012, just eight months after Facinelli and his ex-wife Jennie Garth announced they were separating after 11 years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in 2013.
Facinelli will next be seen on the NBC action drama American Odyssey, premiering April 5. Meanwhile. Alexander is filming the pilot for the drama Blindspot, also for NBC.
A wedding date has not been announced.
