US Still the Favorite of World Travelers

Americans aren’t the only ones setting their sights on traveling this year, based on a TripAdvisor survey of 44,000 people from around the world.
As it happens, the U.S. was listed as the top destination among the survey respondents in 2015 as it was last year. But if money was not an issue, global travelers would make Australia their number one destination.
Meanwhile, two-thirds of U.S. respondents to the poll say they plan to travel abroad this year, way up from the 50 percent who claimed to have vacationed internationally in 2014.
The budget for the American traveler is also the same in 2015 as it was last year: about $8,700.
Overall, about 40 percent of travelers worldwide say they will spend more this year, citing “going somewhere on my wish list” and “my family deserves it” as their reasons for doing so.
