Lucroy suffered the injury during the team’s game against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night. He broke his toe after a foul tip hit him in the left toe.

“I’ve been hit a million times on my feet,” Lucroy told MLB.com. “I was just talking to ‘Maldy’ about it and he said the same thing: That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a catcher break their toe. It had to be me. It’s about par for the course right now.”

“I can’t do anything about it. I have to wait for it to heal up,” Lucroy added. “Freak thing. You guys saw it. I don’t know what else to say about it other than I have to overcome it, deal with it.”

The 28-year-old Lucroy was off to a rough start this season, batting .156 with two RBIs. Meanwhile, the Brewers are off to a 2-11 start, which is the worst mark in Major League Baseball.
