The lawsuit was brought by a family who claimed that yoga being taught in Encinitas Union School District promoted Hinduism and inhibited Christianity, according to a report by ABC News affiliate KGTV-TV.

Paul Carelli, a lawyer for the firm that represented the district, told the television station the courts could see the classes were not religious.

“The Court of Appeals had the opportunity to review the videos taken from the classes, so they got actually see what was happening in the classrooms,” he said.

Parent Audrey Kelleman told KGTV-TV she didn’t know why yoga became an issue that ended up in the courts.

“To me, it’s you know, exercise,” she said.
