“Furious 7” Opens Nationwide Friday
Published at(NEW YORK) — Only one movie opens nationwide on Friday, and it’s a big one: Furious 7.
The latest film in the Fast and the Furious series is a bittersweet one. One of the franchise’s lead stars, Paul Walker, died in a car accident in November of 2013. His brothers stepped in to complete his remaining scenes.
In Furious 7, Jason Statham’s villainous Deckard Shaw seeks revenge on Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and his crew following the death of his brother.
Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris also return, while Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell are new to the cast.
Furious 7, which is screening in IMAX theaters, is rated PG-13.
