Giants’ Hunter Pence Still Recovering
Published at(SAN FRANCISCO) — San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence may not be back before May 1 as he continues to recover from a broken left forearm.
The club had targeted his return date for May 1, but manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Pence is “making progress.”
“He’s got to go through hitting off a tee, soft toss … all the boxes he’s got to check off,” Bochy added.
Pence was hit by a pitch in spring training on March 6 and was expected to miss six to eight weeks.
The defending World Series champions sit at 5-10 and in last place in the N.L. West, trailing the Los Angeles Dodgers by five games.
