I.F. man arrested for meth

IDAHO FALLS — Idaho Falls Police arrested Nicolas A. Jones, 38, for providing false information to police, felony possession of a controlled substance and two probation violation warrants Friday.
The Idaho Falls man was arrested during a routine traffic stop. Police reports show Jones was a passenger in a vehicle stopped around 3:44 p.m. at East Elva and North Freeman Avenue. During the stop Jones, who initially provided a false name, was identified as having two active arrest warrants. Additionally, Jones was found to have 1.98 grams of methamphetamine while being arrested. The driver of the vehicle, 37‐year‐old Marcus D. Smith of Stanley, also was arrested for providing false information to police.
Jones was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
