Israeli Defense Forces Thwart Attack From Syria, Raises Alert Level

Joel Carillet/iStock/Thinkstock(JERUSALEM) — Several alleged terrorists were killed Sunday night while trying to place explosives along the Syrian-Israeli border, the Israeli Defense Force announced.
An IDF patrol identified the targets around 9:30 p.m. local time who were “attempting to place an explosive device against IDF forces on Israel’s border with Syria.”
“Terrorists armed w/ explosives along Israeli-Syrian border were en route to imminent attack on our forces. Our air force neutralized threat,” the IDF tweeted.

In response to the incident, the IDF said it is raising the alert level along Israel’s northern border.
