POCATELLO – Idaho State University has launched a mobile safety app for students, faculty, staff, and others.

The free app allows users to set a timer that will notify designated people if they are alone or in an unfamiliar location. There’s also an emergency call button that will send a notification to Campus Security with one click. Officers receive the user’s information and GPS location.

“We’re encouraging all students, as well as our faculty and staff, to download this new mobile safety app,” said ISU President Arthur Vailas. “This app offers students another way to stay connected and stay safe.”

Users can also send texts or photo content directly to University officials if they witness something suspicious on campus.

The free mobile app is available on all four of the University’s campuses: Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Twin Falls and Meridian.

ISU joins more than 1,000 campuses nationwide that use the mobile safety app. Users can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
