IDAHO FALLS — During the month of May, the community-wide Live Well Idaho Falls committee is challenging the community to cut out sugary beverages and Rehydrate in 28.

Live Well Idaho Falls is an educational program featuring local experts discussing important topics to inspire and empower all of us to improve our health. The committee consists of representatives from the city of Idaho Falls, city of Ammon, EIRMC, Mountain View Hospital and Eastern Idaho Public Health District.

“We are moving forward with our quest for better health and feeling well, and we invite everyone to join in,” Idaho Falls Mayor Casper said. “Citizens can attend the free monthly presentations held at the Idaho Falls Library or join in various challenges like Rehydrate in 28. In celebration of our city’s 150th anniversary, I also challenge every citizen to bike, run or walk 150 miles by the end of the year.”

It’s time to put down the soda, kick the can, junk the juice and replace it with 1 quart of water per 50 pounds of body weight or eight 8-ounce glasses per day. Some health conditions may prevent individuals from drinking that much water – as with anything, participants are encouraged to seek and follow their physician’s guidance.

To participate simply pick up the Rehydrate in 28 card and track water intake for 28 days during the month of May. Cards are located at any of the following locations:

  • Idaho Falls Public Library
  • Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center
  • Mountain View Hospital
  • City of Ammon Town Hall
  • Eastern Idaho Public Health District

Cards can also be printed from the City of Idaho Falls website. Cards returned to the locations listed above by June 12 will be entered in the prize drawing.
