Royals starting pitcher Yordano Ventura received a seven-game suspension, starting pitcher Edinson Volquez received a five-game suspension, outfielder Lorenzo Cain received a two-game suspension, and pitcher Kelvin Herrera received a two-game suspension.

For the White Sox, starting pitchers Jeff Samardzija and Chris Sale received five-game suspensions.

It all started in the fourth inning when Yordano Ventura hit first baseman Jose Abreu with a pitch. White Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale then plunked Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas.

In the sevneth inning, White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton grounded out to Ventura, who then proceeded to yell something at Eaton that upset him.

Benches eventually cleared that saw the two teams come to blows.

Unless appealed, all suspensions are scheduled to be effective on Sunday.
