The team announced that catcher Matt Wieters, shortstop J.J. Hardy, outfielder David Lough and infielder/outfielder Jimmy Paredes will all open up the season no the 15-day disabled list.

Hardy, Lough and Wieters’ moves are retroactive to March 27. Paredes is retroactive to April 1.

Wieters starting the season is the least-surprising as he is still recovering from Tommy June Surgery he underwent last June, and the team wasn’t counting on him being ready to start the season healthy.

Hardy is dealing with a strained shoulder, Lough is battling a hamstring issue, and Paredes is dealing with a back strain.

After winning the American League East in 2014, the Orioles were already dealing with a 25-game suspension of first baseman Chris Davis for using amphetamines without a prescription.
