Brooks’ contract is guaranteed through the 2015-2016 season with Oklahoma City, with a team option for the season after. Brooks has led the team since 2008.

In a season where the Thunder played a portion of the season without Russell Westbrook and most of the year without Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City finished 45-37 and missed the playoffs due to a tiebreaker with the Pelicans.

Westbrook returned from injury and had a career season, eventually winning the NBA scoring title. However, Westbrook said the title “means nothing” because he would “rather be in the playoffs than win the scoring title.”

Wojnarowski reports that Florida University head basketball coach Billy Donovan would be a heavy favorite to replace Brooks if the team were to go in a different direction.
