Book review: ‘Find Momo Coast to Coast’ shares road trip photos, adventures

"FIND MOMO COAST TO COAST," by Andrew Knapp, Quirk Books, $14.95, 142 pages (nf)

Follow Andrew Knapp and his border collie, Momo, as they travel in their 1977 VW Westfalia van on a 15,000-mile road trip in the recent book "Find Momo Coast to Coast." With pictures along the way, explore the iconic sights and hidden gems of the large metropolises and small towns on their journey across 25 states and five Canadian provinces.

This isn't just a simple collection of pictures of their adventures; each photograph has Momo hidden in the background. The book is enjoyable for two reasons — seeing beautiful pictures of beautiful places and finding the little black-and-white dog, who is usually poking his head around or over an object, often to humorous effect.

Similar to "Maddie on Things," which is a collection of photos of a coonhound balancing on almost anything, this is a book that is easy to imagine as an Instagram feed but is better enjoyed in a larger, printed format. The variety of images is delightful as they drive east across southern Canada, south along the Atlantic coastline, west across the southern United States and north along the Pacific coastline.

There is no swearing, foul language, sexual content or violence.
