Entourage? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1432211388761Warner Bros.(LOS ANGELES) — Fans of HBO’s hit series Entourage are used to celebrity cameos. But in the big-screen adaptation, moviegoers can expect over 50 spottings. Creator Doug Ellin explained why so many celebs pop up in the film.

“I remember when people said that the TV show had too many cameos,” Ellin told The Hollywood Reporter. “But that’s the reality of life in Hollywood. You get on a plane in L.A., and there’s three celebrities sitting in first class.”

While many cameos in the film were planned, such as Warren Buffett, Bob Saget, Gary Busey and Andrew Dice Clay, who did cameos on the TV series, others happened coincidentally. For instance, Common makes an appearance in the film because he just so happened to be working out at the same gym where the film was scheduled to shoot.

“It was very free-flowing,” Ellin explained. “If someone could show up on Tuesday, I’d say, ‘All right, I’ll figure out how to get them in.'”

Other cameos came together last-minute, such as Kelsey Grammer’s. In the film, he walks by in a scene when Ari Gold is just leaving his marriage counselor. According to the magazine, Grammer, who famously has been married four times, tells Gold, played by Jeremy Piven, “Don’t waste your money.”

A huge party at Turtle’s mansion in the film provides the most celebrity cameos. In that scene alone, fans will spot Pharrell Williams, Ed O’Neill and even professional football player Russell Wilson, among others.

Still, there’s one well-known figure that Ellin couldn’t wrangle into his film — President Barack Obama, who is reportedly a fan of the series.
