Man lies about name while being arrested for burglary

IDAHO FALLS – The Idaho Falls Police Department says a man gave detectives a wrong name after being arrested for burglary and vehicle burglary.

Damian Rhodes, 37, was taken into custody Thursday night.  Police say Rhodes provided a false name to police at the time of his arrest. He disclosed his real identity to authorities Friday during his arraignment in Bonneville County Court.

According to reports, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Whittier after a resident reported seeing Rhodes enter his residence and another residence around 9 p.m.

Officers located Rhodes around 10:30 p.m. after another report of burglary and disturbance was reported in the 700 block of Whittier. The victims reported that Rhodes entered garages and residences. He was found in possession of beverages and garage door openers taken from vehicles and garages.

Rhodes is being rebooked into the Bonneville County Jail for burglary, vehicle burglary, disturbing the peace and public nuisance.
