James Harden scored 31 points and Dwight Howard added 16 points in the victory.

“I told our guys 3-1 it feels really bad especially when they stomp on you in games three and four,” Rockets head coach Kevin McHale said about the team’s mindset.  “Our guys just kind grinded it out, one game at a time, we’ve had many three game winning streaks throughout the year and our guys just rallied together.”

This is the Rockets first appearance in the Western Conference Finals since 1997 when Hakeem Olajuwon and Charles Barkley were on the roster.

“So close,” Clippers guard Chris Paul said on dropping three games in a row.  “I don’t even know what that means anymore.  If you’re not first, your’e last, being close ain’t good enough.”

Paul finished with 26 points and Blake Griffin had 27 in the loss.
