IDAHO FALLS — After a dry winter and a parched spring, Idaho is receiving almost a record May for moisture with nearly twice the typical amount of rain than on average.

Alex DeSmet, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pocatello, says that, although we should have a bit of relief from the rain this weekend, there in no end to the rain in the foreseeable future.

EastIdahoNews.com Reporter Mark Richardson spoke with farmers on the benefits of the rain in the clip above. Richardson also spoke with road officials about how the precipitation is affecting local construction projects.
