Stream music to your TV with 4 Chromecast apps

Google’s Chromecast streaming device continues to prove its value in an increasingly crowded field of media gadgets.

With games like Wheel of Fortune and video options like ESPN Watch, there seems to be something for everyone on Chromecast. Likewise for music lovers, a myriad of Chromecast-ready apps exist for easy listening at home or in the office. Below is a look at four options for listening via Chromecast:

iHeartRadio

iHeartRadio’s functionality is very straightforward. Music selection takes place on the device and album art is shown on the TV. There isn’t any support for the TV screen when a favorite takes place within the app, but there is a live time counter for each song.

Pandora

Pandora, one of the original music streaming giants, incorporates a unique functionality when a song is given a thumbs up or thumbs down. When one of those actions takes place within the app, the action is shown on the TV screen. Like the other music apps, album art is displayed while a song is being played.

Vevo

Vevo is the music video destination and its app makes watching the latest video a seamless process. Once casting is turned on, users simply select the video from the device menu and the video plays.

TuneIn Radio

TuneIn has a very basic on-screen experience, but it gets the job done. Once a channel is selected a simple time counter is displayed along with the channel logo. Despite the lackluster appearance, the audio plays just fine.
