Trainwreck? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1435607093449Universal(LOS ANGELES) — In Trainwreck, Amy Schumer portrays a woman who loves dating and has no interest in being tied down. The comedian said many of her personal experiences inspired scenes from the film.

“So the scene where I get high and then John [Cena’s] character looks through my phone, and then instead of comforting him I ask if I can leave — that did happen in my real life,” she told reporters at a press conference in Los Angeles, reports People magazine.

Schumer denied that her character was to “act like a man.”

“This is how I am and how a lot of girls are where the guy ends up being a little more sensitive and more invested,” she clarified. “A lot of people have asked me if I intended to kind of flip the gender roles like I’m playing the guy, and that’s not been my experience at all.”

Co-star Bill Hader said it was great filming with Schumer, even the intimate scenes. Hader added that it was director Judd Apatow who was the most nervous when it came to filming their sex scene.

“Judd was very embarrassed,” he said. “He was very shy when we did the real sex scene on the couch. He was like, ‘OK, so today’s the big day. OK, you guys it’s gonna be fun,’ and everyone was looking at the ground.”

Trainwreck, also starring LeBron James, hits theaters July 17.
