Idaho has been ranked the fourth most patriotic state in America, according to WalletHub.com.

The website examined eight key metrics in every state including military engagement, voting habits, and civil education requirements.

The Wallethub.com study found that patriotism may be waning across the country. In 2011, 38 percent of Americans said the U.S. was the best country in the world. That number fell to 28 percent in 2014.

In the study, Idaho and Minnesota both ranked fourth place for the highest volunteer rate in the country. The Gem State ranked fifth for the most Peace Corp volunteers per capita.

Virginia was ranked the most patriotic state in America while New York was ranked the least patriotic.
