UPDATE: Power Restored to Most of Upper Valley
Published at | Updated atREXBURG — A power outage occurred in the Rexburg and Rigby areas at 9:54 a.m. Wednesday.
Spokesperson for Rocky Mountain Power Margaret Oler said power was restored in Rigby at 10:18 a.m., Rexburg at 11:13 a.m. and has still not been restored in Thornton, which holds 1,346 customers.
Oler said the outage originally affected 16,500 customers.
Oler said the outage was caused by insulators on the transmission line that had to be repaired, which caused an interruption in power.
There will be no anticipated outages once the insulators are repaired, and that Rocky Mountain Power personnel are currently working to restore power in Thornton, Oler said.
“That’s their first priority, is just getting power restored,” Oler said.
