Reddit Revolts After Employee Dismissal

Social media website Reddit is on a virtual lockdown after the sudden firing of an employee.
Victoria Taylor was the former director of talent who oversaw celebrity interviews on the popular “Ask Me Anything” sub-reddit. Taylor helped facilitate many successful interviews on the site and was a favorite administrator for many of the users.
In protest of the firing, many moderators of sub-reddits set their pages to “private” so users would not be able to see any content. The “Ask Me Anything” subreddit was also set to private for a period of time.
“We all had the rug ripped out from under us and feel betrayed,” said one moderator on Reddit.
Reddit hasn’t said much about the dismissal except they do not talk about “individual employee matters.”
