KEIR 101.1 FM is the new home for ISU Sports

POCATELLO — The Idaho State Athletics Department has a new radio home for its football and men’s basketball games. ISU Athletics has partnered with Riverbend Communications to broadcast all home and away contests along with the weekly coaches show that takes place during the school year.

All games will be broadcast on KEIR 101.1 FM, 92.7 FM(in Blackfoot), 690 AM and 1260 AM. All broadcasts will be streamed live on eastidahonews.com.

“We are thrilled to partner with Riverbend Communications,” Idaho State Director of Athletics Jeff Tingey said. “This is a great opportunity for Idaho State Athletics to reach an audience that is untapped.”

Jerry Miller will continue to be the “Voice of the Bengals” for all football, men’s basketball and coaches show broadcasts. Mark Liptak will provide color commentary for all football games while Brad Bugger will continue be the analyst for all men’s basketball home games.

KEIR carries talk shows on a variety of topics with the most up to date local news reports. The station also broadcasts NFL, NCAA football, NCAA men’s basketball (including the Final Four) and NBC Sports Radio.

The local programs that are broadcasted on KEIR are Idaho’s Morning News with Dylan Carder, Hurricane Harris Hour and Probing America with Mark Richardson.

“This is going to be a great partnership for the community, the university and for our company,” stated Steve Poulsen, General Manager of Riverbend Communications. “We are pleased to add Idaho State University athletics to our great array of products we offer to the people east Idaho. Not only will the fans be able to hear the games live on KEIR 101.1FM, but we will also be streaming the games on eastidahonews.com.”

As part of the radio announcement, tickets for the home opener vs. Black Hills State are on sale at the ISU Ticket Office at Holt Arena for $10.10. This is a one-day sale that is for today (Thursday, August 6) only.

The Idaho State football team will open the 2015 season ranked No. 24 in the Preseason FCS Coaches Poll. The Bengals finished the 2014 season 8-4 and 6-2 in Big Sky Conference play. ISU was picked to finish third in the conference by the media and sixth by the coaches.
