POCATELLO – Thousands are expected to attend the inaugural concert at the new Portneuf Health Trust Amphitheatre Monday night.

The Beach Boys and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band are the first acts to take the stage at the new 15 million dollar complex.

The 80 acre facility is one-of-a-kind for East Idaho. In addition to a concert stage, the public will have access to six sports fields, sand volleyball courts, walking trails, a seven acre lake for fishing and swimming, and a playground meant for kids of all ages.

“It’s gonna draw people from all over the west because it’s that remarkable,” Bill Jackson, the landscape architect, told EastIdahoNews.com during a tour earlier this month. “This is trying to be a lot of things for a lot of people to promote health and wellness in our community.”

Bannock County will maintain the facility and officials are confident it will bring some economic benefits to Pocatello.
