POCATELLO — Police arrested Jarvis Michaele Apodaca, for four counts of felony injury to a child while driving under the influence on Friday, Aug. 28.

The Pocatello man was headed southbound in the 800 block of Yellowstone Ave. at about 8:15 p.m. when he began to drive recklessly, hitting construction cones and a curb, Pocatello Police spokeswoman Dianne Brush said.

Police responded to the scene and arrested the 24-year-old who had four children in the vehicle, all of whom were between the ages of eight and 13 and sustained minor injuries, Brush said.

Apodaca would not submit to a breath sample when requested by police. He was then asked to complete a sobriety test, which he did not pass.

Apodaca is being held in the Bannock County Jail on a $500 bond for a DUI charge, a $300 bond for each charge of injury to a child.

His arraignment is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31.
