IDAHO FALLS – Do you have a delicious chili recipe that’s been in your family for years? How about a killer pumpkin dish that will knock your neighbors socks off?

Maybe you just conquer every pie or hotdog eating you enter. Or are you the person that could build the most spectacular scarecrow Idaho has ever seen?

If this sounds like you, the East Idaho Harvest Fest and Outdoor Expo wants to hear from you.

The 10th annual event will be held this Friday and Saturday and organizers are asking the public to be involved.

“We guarantee a good time,” says event organizer Jay Dye. “There’s something for everyone and it’s the perfect expo for your family and friends.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet hundreds of outdoor experts and enthusiasts as well as celebrating the fall harvest.

Contests will be held in the following category:

Secret Ingredient Cook-off: The secret Ingredient is pumpkin – sweet or savory. Pumpkin must be included in the dish.

Chili Showdown: General public whips up a batch of chili to compete again other locals with chili recipes.

Do you want to build a . . . scarecrow? Build a scarecrow – any size and enter in this contest for a chance to win prizes.

Pie Eating Contest: Contest to be held each day.

Hot Dog Eating Contest: Contest held each day.

Each entry gets two tickets for admission to the East Idaho Harvest Fest & Outdoor Expo.

Even if you don’t want to participate in the contest, hundreds of vendors will be on site to answer questions and hold give-aways.

The expo runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day at Kingston Plaza, 1545 W. Broadway, Idaho Falls.
