BLACKFOOT — The Eastern Idaho State Fair begins tomorrow and there will be a ton of great fair food for everyone.

Media spent Thursday, Sept. 3. in Blackfoot on the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds to judging a variety of fair foods from multiple fair concessionaires. Judges voted for concessionaires who had entered to win the “Fairest of them All” and “Best New Fair Food” categories.

The foods entered for “Fairest of Them All” included bacon crazy corn, scone nuggets with honey butter, raspberry cream cheese brownie on a stick and a deep fried cinnamon roll with salted caramel.

“Over sixty-five percent of the fair concessionaires live in eastern Idaho,” Eastern Idaho State Fair General Manager Brandon Bird said. “We’re very lucky to have a lot of local flavors in what we do here at the Eastern Idaho State Fair.”

Bird said that last year, the Eastern Idaho State Fair made 2.2 million dollars in food sales in eight days and hosted approximately 226,000 guests.

The Eastern Idaho State Fair beings Saturday, Sept. 5 and runs daily until Sept. 12.
