The author took to Twitter to remind fans that, according to the novels’ timeline, today is the day Harry’s son would board the Hogwarts Express at platform 9 and three quarters.

“I’m in Edinburgh, so could somebody at King’s Cross wish James S Potter good luck for me? He’s starting at Hogwarts today,” she tweeted.

Rowling first introduced James Sirius Potter in the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He is the first son of Harry and Ginny, named after Harry’s father James and late godfather, Sirius Black. And like any other 11-year-old British wizard, James would be heading to Hogwarts today, September 1.

In honor of the date, and inspired by Rowling’s tweet, #BackToHogwarts climbed to a top Twitter trend worldwide early Tuesday morning. Muggle and magical Harry Potter fans alike celebrated the anniversary of Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s first meeting.

About an hour after her first post, the world’s most successful author followed up with this tweet: “Now worried that he’ll be irritated by the number of people saying hi.”
